Drug Free Workplace
NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale) has a longstanding commitment to provide a safe, quality-oriented and productive work environment consistent with the standards of the community in which the company operates. NuScale is in the business of designing and deploying a commercial nuclear plant; as such, NuScale has an obligation to adhere to standards that may not be required of employers in other lines of business. Accordingly, NuScale conducts a pre-employment drug screening as part of the hiring process and also random testing whereby all employees have an equal statistical chance of being selected for testing. To enforce its policy and maintain a drug free workplace pre-employment drug screening and random testing may include testing for the presence of alcohol, marijuana and other illegal drugs.
Home to NuScale’s engineering office, Corvallis is regularly ranked and recognized as a great place to live and work. In 2017, Livability.com gave Corvallis high marks on their livability scale for its citizen involvement, commitment to green living and near-perfect location. Not many cities can claim to be an hour from the ocean, an hour-and-a-half from the mountains, surrounded by national forests and yet a short distance away from a major metropolitan area (Portland), but Corvallis, Ore., offers all this and much more as one of America’s Best Places to Live.
Corvallis (population 56,535) has long been known as the home of Oregon State University and a progressive, intellectually vibrant community that has led in municipal sustainability practices and green initiatives. It’s also set in a beautiful area of the Pacific Northwest, resulting in a wealth of outdoor recreational activities. Corvallis was named to Livability.com’s list of 10 Best College Towns in 2017 and 2012.
