About Us

Changing the Power that Changes the World

NuScale’s mission is to provide scalable advanced nuclear technology for the production of electricity, heat, and clean water to improve the quality of life for people around the world. We are changing the power that changes the world by creating an energy source that is smarter, cleaner, safer, and cost competitive. Our ambition is to help the world transition to clean energy with a small environmental footprint, in a socially-responsible manner, and with strong corporate governance and safety culture.

The NuScale VOYGR™ small modular reactor (SMR) power plants offer a scalable solution incorporating enhanced safety, improved affordability, and extended flexibility for diverse electrical and process heat applications. NuScale's scalable design offers the benefits of carbon-free energy and reduces the financial commitments associated with gigawatt-sized nuclear facilities.

Since being founded in 2007, NuScale has made significant progress towards commercializing America’s first SMR. This wouldn’t have been possible without our partners, including our majority investor Fluor Corporation, a global engineering, procurement, and construction company, and the U.S. Department of Energy.
