technologies to minimize, and in many cases eliminate, the need for additional research
and development.
The following existing technology items are incorporated into the SMR design:

- Magnetic Jack Control Rod Drive Mechanisms – Designed by Curtiss-Wright Flow Control
- Control Rods and Fuel Assemblies – Designed by KNF
- Skid Mounted Steam Turbine – Designed by Dresser-Rand
- Air-cooled Generators – Many vendors
- Condenser – Many vendors
- Feedwater system – Many vendors
- Emergency Core Cooling System Valves– Curtiss-Wright Flow Control
- Fuel Handling Cranes and Fuel Mast – Konecranes
