Kiewit Power Constructors Co. is the power construction division of Peter Kiewit Sons, Inc. Named by FORTUNE Magazine in 2007 as the most admired engineering and construction company, Kiewit is consistently ranked among the top 10 contractors by Engineering News Record, with 2006 revenues of more than $5 billion. Kiewit is one of the few U.S.-owned construction firms with the complete resources to build billion-dollar mega-projects such as  the San Francisco Bay Bridge, a $1.4 billion contract.

Kiewit manages some of the toughest construction jobs in the U.S. and Canada.  It has constructed power generation facilities continuously for more than 40 years.  The company’s history includes work on virtually all types of power generation facilities in North America including the largest hydroelectric projects, coal-fired projects of 700 Mw, gas-combustion turbine projects up to 845 Mw, nuclear projects in Generation II, and wind turbine and waste-to-energy projects.

In its history, Kiewit was the contractor of choice to build some of the most important facilities within our national defense system.  These include Minuteman Missile sites located in Montana and North Dakota, the underground command facilities at Offutt AFB located in Nebraska, and performed all construction for Operation Bluejay; the construction of Thule AFB and DEW line facilities in Greenland.

Kiewit holds current ASME certificates needed to begin construction of nuclear power facilities including NA, NPT, CC and NS certificates of accreditation.  Kiewit’s module facilities in Texas are expected to be the first U.S.-based facilities to hold ASME certificates for domestic nuclear power module fabrication.
