NuScale Activities in the UK

NuScale Power is working with the UK government, various companies of strategic importance within the UK supply chain, universities and other institutions, to explore potential for the development, fabrication and deployment of the NuScale Power Module.

NuScale Power has been actively involved in the UK Government’s Small Modular Reactors (SMR) Feasibility Study. Following a technical assessment by the UK’s National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), it was concluded that the NuScale Power Module is a credible technology, feasible for deployment within a ten year timeframe and, alongside other options, should be investigated further for potential UK involvement.

Fluor, NuScale Power’s primary investor, employs more than 1,100 staff in the UK. NuScale Power has entered into collaborative agreements with other key parts of the UK nuclear sector, including the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (NAMRC) at the University of Sheffield.

NuScale Power is a member of the key trade organization, Energy UK.
